Together with his bandmate Jeff Beaulieu, Alex purchased a former church in Drummondville, Canada, and founded the label Hopeful Tragedy Records along with the Upper Room Studio. It is there that the music for their debut album, “Windows in the Sky”, was recorded and mixed by the band themselves.
At the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal in 2019, the band performed in front of a sold-out crowd, which resulted in a live album, Standing Under Bright Lights, released in 2021. Top positions in the international album charts followed: #1 in Canada, #6 in Australia, and #32 in the UK.

2023 started quite abruptly, with Alex having to undergo an emergency heart surgery and postpone what had previously been scheduled to 2024. Alex decided to slowly work on a beautiful Japanese film and soundtrack project titled Voyage à la Mer during his recovery. Resulting in a collaboration with the talented Japanese-Canadian artist Momoka, and his longtime creative partner Ben Lemelin. Released in April 2024, the album reached the Billboard top 10.
The second album of the project, A Measure of Shape and Sounds, is instrumental and was released on September 20, 2024, also finding a place in the Billboard charts.

Currently, the band is in Tangier, Morocco, to work on a new album, which will be released in 2025. Plans for festivals and shows in 2025 are also in the making.
