Formed by brothers Vincent, Matthew, and Martin, the French trio has been playing music together since their youth, developing a deep musical bond and a shared vision. Their early dedication to live performances and studio recordings quickly honed their craft, setting the stage for their unique sound. This journey took a significant turn when they crossed paths with Jan Rechberger, drummer of Amorphis. The chemistry was instant, leading to a collaboration that culminated in Theraphosa’s debut EP.

Recorded in Helsinki, Finland, under the watchful eye of Rechberger, and mastered by Mika Jussila at the renowned Finnvox Studios, the EP showcases the band’s ability to weave fatalistic melodies into a fabric of groove-laden, incisive riffs. The video for their track “Obsession,” directed by longtime collaborator Denis Goria, received praise from industry giants like Peter Tägtgren, who noted, “Sounds great, that’s going to be big!” Theraphosa’s music is a relentless journey through darkness, where haunting melodies and powerful grooves entwine, creating an atmosphere of constant tension and intensity.
